Have you guys had problems with animals from Pets At Home (UK)?
I bought a gorgeous Syrian hamster, and she turned out to have cancer! My friend's also had the same problem, and her other hamster (Genesis) randomly died for no reason, she was just really ill. Yes, we ALL took them to the vets, nothing they could do. All of ours that have died, have been from this shop. Has anyone else had experiences with hamsters or other animals from this shop?
We have the best deals on Zhu Zhu Pets.

The thing with rodents is that they are prone to tumours so you can't really blame a pet shop for that especially as getting a tumour wouldn't be the result of a human not looking after it properly, it would be due to genetics. Pets at Home are probably the best pet shop company in the UK, they follow a lot of strict policies where the animals come first, which a lot of other pet shops don't. I've kept rats for many years and all of them have died due to tumours, because that is what they are prone to getting, some I have bought from pets at hoem, others from other pet shops. Pets at Home are a VERY GOOD company, they would never sell an ill animal, your hamsters were just prone to getting tumours genetically.
Yes. Pets at Home are terrible to buy animals from. After a while I stopped buying from there. Two of my dwarf hamsters I got from there had cancer, all the fish from there died, two adopted gerbils and a guinea pig from there died. And if you go in there, it's just not the right conditions for animals. It's just not good to buy animals from there. They just die.
We nicknamed them Prats at Home. =]
